The California primary election is June 7. Mail-in voting begins May 9. It's time for a Candidate Forum that focuses on local candidates and local issues.
When: Tuesday, May 10 at 6:00 p.m.
Where: Ukiah City Council Chambers, 300 Seminary Avenue
What:
- 6:00 – 6:45: Superior Court Judge, Candidates Keith Faulder and Patrick Pekin
- 6:45 – 7:30: First District Supervisor, Incumbent Carre Brown and challenger Montana Podva
- 7:30 – 8:15: Measure V: Should trees that are intentionally killed and left standing be declared a public nuisance?
- 8:15 – 9:00: Measure W: Should Mendocino County become a charter county?
These pre-election forums have become an important public service tradition for AAUW-Ukiah and co-hosts MWPC, Ukiah Daily Journal, and Ukiah Saturday Afternoon Club.
KC Meadows, editor of the Ukiah Daily Journal, will moderate, except for Measure W, which KC has already opposed, and therefore recused herself. Linda Bailey will moderate the Measure W forum.
Audience questions are encouraged. Bring your friends and neighbors to meet these candidates up close and personal and get the facts and the arguments for and against the ballot measures.
